The Story Behind the Story
About Narrativity
Note from the Author
You have stories. The tales of warriors. The fates of dystopians. The tragedies of lovers. Families and histories that exist so vividly in your mind that you sometimes forget they aren't real.
You've torn through multiple notebooks, scribbling away about betrayals, kisses, revolutions. In the moment — when it's just you and your creativity — it all makes sense. You can watch it like a movie in your head. But years, or sometimes even months later, when you come back to those notes, you can barely recognize what was going through your chaotic brain.
You have started over more times than you can count. You forget the sidekick's primary motivation. You're hazy about that one event that happened to the antagonist — the one that makes him the top-tier villain you always envisioned movie critics going crazy about.
If you're anything like me, creativity is fun, but can be dangerously messy. You want to start understanding your characters so that you can communicate them properly, but it seems there's no way to fully lay out the unending sagas running through your head.
Narrativity was made for you.
Many assume that character creation is just a passive part of building a story. That couldn't be farther from the truth. The stronger your characters, the stronger your story — and the more deeply you understand them, the more powerfully you can communicate them to your audience.
Every plot twist, every conflict, every moment that makes a reader stop breathing for a second: those moments don't happen by accident. They come from a creator who knows their characters so thoroughly that putting them in the right situation feels inevitable. That level of knowing deserves more than a scattered notebook. It deserves a system.
Narrativity is that system. This is the Basic Edition — and this is only where it begins.
